Ondrícek Fifteen Artistic Studies for Violin
František Ondříček (1857 – 1922) born in Prague the son of a violinist and conductor, was a Czech violinist and composer. Following studies at the Prague Conservatory he went to Paris to continue his studies at the Conservatoire.
In October 1883 he was the soloist in the first performance in Prague of the Dvorak Violin Concerto Op.53 later performing it in Vienna where he then settled. Following the end of World War I he returned to Prague, directing violin masterclasses at the Prague Conservatory.
In 1892 his achievements were recognised by the Philharmonic Society of London (now the Royal Philharmonic Society) who awarded him honorary membership.
