Moravac Selected Studies III for Viola

Karel Moravac was born in 1880 in Ostrovec in Bohemia.  In 1893 he entered in Prague Conservatoire leaving after six years with high qualifications.  He was employed at the Lemberg Opera House and a year later joined the Warsaw Philharmonic as first violinist.  He later gave up his position in order to study the viola and to direct his playing to chamber music and was a founding memebre of the Sevcik Quartet  who gave the premiere of Bohuslav Martinů's first string quartet in 1927 .  He died in 1959.
