Fifteen choral and instrumental movements have been selected in the present edition and arranged for brass ensemble.
The weeks of Advent leading up to the days of Christmas are a busy time for brass ensembles. As a supplement to well-known Christmas carols in traditional settings, more demanding chorales and free instrumental settings with Christmas themes have been arranged here in such a way that they provide a welcome enrichment for the many Advent and Christmas celebrations and church services.
The experienced brass-choir directors Rolf Schweizer and Karl-Heinz Saretzki supervised the selection and supplemented the edition with notes on interpretation (German text).
