Stedron Claudio Monteverde: Praga 1595 for Organ

This cycle of organ miniatures “Claudio Monteverde: Praga 1595” is an imaginary account of Monteverdi's journey with the Gonzaga court through the Czech lands to Western Europe.  In addition to the seconda prattica procedures and echoes of music around 1600, the confrontation with the realities of the alchemy of the time, which Rudolf II, Vincenzo Gonzaga and Claudio Monteverdi were all inclined towards.  The cycle presupposes a performance in its entirety, but does not exclude the interpretation of an arbitrary selection of individual parts.  The work was composed for the 58th International Music Competition Prague Spring 2006.
