Vivaldi Concerto for Flute in D major RV783 (Flute & Piano)

Full score, flute solo and string parts available as HM265.

Antonio Vivaldi (1678–1741) “was sprightly and highly inventive, and he filled almost half the world with his concertos” wrote Quantz in a brief appreciation of Vivaldi a generation later.  It was only by chance that this Flute Concerto in D major, which was preserved anonymously in Schwerin – truly half a world away from Venice – has been identified as a composition by Vivaldi.  Easy to perform, this concerto radiates musical freshness and high spirits.
