Musical comedy in one act

The five numbers to the Singspiel Der Schauspieldirektor – Overture, two arias, terzetto and Vaudeville – was written by Mozart between the 18th of January and the 3rd of February, 1786, and thus during his work on Figaro.  The composition was commissioned by the Emperor Joseph II together with the commission to the Divertimento teatrale Prima la musica, poi le parole for Antonio Salieri.
