Der Tod Jesu (TVWV 5:6) Vocal Score

Telemann’s Passion oratorio Der Tod Jesu was composed in 1754/55, almost at the same time as the same-named work of note by Carl Heinrich Graun. Both compositions are based on the same libretto by Karl

Wilhelm Ramler.  In this late work, Telemann consciously juxtaposes carefully structured recitatives with musically reduced festive choruses, thus lending the passion text great musical expressivity.

This vocal score complements the Urtext edition of this appealing work which is published as a part of the Telemann Musical Works. The orchestral parts are available on hire.

- Urtext edition based on the Telemann Musical Works.

- Idiomatic well-presented piano reduction in the vocal score.

- Full score (BA5853) and vocal score (BA5853-90) available for sale.

- Performance material available for hire.
