Emanuel Kaucký (1904-1953), was a revered horn pedagogue and the author of study books for horn.  Kaucký studied horn with Janoušek at the Prague Conservatory, as well as clarinet, voice, and composition.  In 1930 he began teaching at the Prague Conservatory - establishing a vibrant horn teaching programme - where he remained until 1949. His study books for horn are revered and became staples of the horn curriculum in the Czech Republic.

Our revised edition of these short studies, published for the first time half a century ago, is supplemented by ten easy exercises by horn player Milos Peter.
