Hassler Intradas from Lustgarten (Full Score)

For strings and / or woodwind instruments.  Score & separate parts available for sale.

In his "Lustgarten" of 1601. Hans Leo Hassler published besides 39 vocal movements, 11 instrumental movements.  These are some of the old representatives of German instrumental music, and as such, an on account of their musical beauty, attract attention.

In this edition we present the 11 instrumental movements in their entirety. They are without technical difficulty and require the co-operation of at least 6 players although the separate parts may also be played by more than one instrument.  Hassler himself gives no indication of the instruments to be used.  The 2 upper parts are in the violin clef, the 3rd in the mezzo-soprano clef, the 4th & 5th mainly in the tenor (also alto) clef and the lowest in the bass clef.

The most natural combination for modern instruments would appear to be a string sextet (3 violins, 2 violas, cello) or a small string orchestra (double bass ad lib).
