Let’s Get Singing
Choral Music for Young and Old from Around the World. 100 pieces mostly SATB

This edition brings together songs from all over the world in appealing choral arrangements.  Over 100 pieces from more than 30 countries span all continents. Choral conductors and choirs will find something to cover all musical tastes!

The editors, all renowned choral conductors and educators, have arranged pieces not only from the sacred and secular repertoire but have also included arrangements of folksongs and some well-known pop songs.  Most pieces are arranged for SATB and are of moderate difficulty, making them accessible to a broad spectrum of choirs.

Of particular interest will be the wide range of different languages.  Apart from English and German songs you will find Finnish, Serbian, Portuguese and Greek ones.  There are also contributions from Africa, Latin and North America and even from Korea and Samoa.

The editors are all well-known and experienced choral directors and educationalists who frequently appear at international conferences.  They are constantly discovering new pieces on their travels.  They have already distinguished themselves with the series Chor aktuell which includes many of their own frequently sung arrangements.

Kurt Suttner: 1975 – 1998 Professor at the Department of Music Education, University of Augsburg, 1989 – 1999 Director of the Bayerische Singakademie. His main interest is in contemporary choral music.

Max Frey: 1976 – 2006 Professor of choral conducting at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater, Munich.

Stefan Kalmer: music teacher, violinist, choral director, workshop organiser

Bernd-Georg Mettke: lecturer at the Department of Music Education, University of Augsburg since 1982.  Director of international choral and orchestral courses, director of courses for choral and orchestral conducting.

In order to assist choirs with the interpretation of these international pieces, the content of each text is clearly described in German and English in the appendix to the edition. Essential help regarding the pronunciation of these many foreign languages is also available.  Native speakers have recited each text and this is available on download at www.bosse-verlag.de

A welcome addition to the choral repertoire!
