Bender Nun bitten wir den Heiligen Geist (Full Score, paperback)

Born in Haarlem, The Netherlands, Jan Oskar Bender (1909-1994) church musician, composer, organist, and teacher, moved to Lübeck, Germany, aged 13 where he studied organ, conducting and theory.  Following the war he visited the United States as visiting professor of composition and organ at Valparaiso University in Indiana, and the University of Denver.  He settled in  the USA and fulfilled several teaching roles as well as an organ recitalist.  Upon retirement in 1976 he returned to Germany but continued composing in addition to occasional teaching opportunities.  He composed more than one hundred works, mainly for organ and / or choir.
