In this collection, editor Jiří Jirmal has collected and transcribed into modern notation compositions originally written in the 16th century for the vihuela, lute and in the 17th century for the five-string guitar.
 
Here we find 6 Pavanes by Luy de Milan, Variations by Luy de Narvaez, works by Alonso Mudarra, including perhaps the most famous Fantasia que contrahaze la harpa en la manera de Ludovico, lute fantasias by Miguel de Fuenlana, as well as pieces by Enriquez de Valderraban and Gaspar Sanz. 

This publication offers an valuable cross-section of Spanish music of the 16th and 17th centuries, technically accessible even to the more advanced players of beginner students.
