Boellmann Organ Works Volume II: Suites, posthumous and unpublished works

Léon Boëllmann (1862–1897) studied at the École Niedermeyer and was Titular organist at Saint-Vincent-de-Paul in Paris.

His compositions follow in the tradition of Saint-Saëns, Franck, Fauré and Gigout, reflecting the elegant and extravagant style of the belle époque.

Volume II of this new Urtext complete performing edition includes both Suites and the Fantasy (1906).  This trilingual edition (French/English/German) utilises previously unresearched source material.  It contains a number of unknown or unpublished works as well as a comprehensive preface and facsimiles of the recently rediscovered manuscript of the famous “Suite gothique ”.

A critical report and a catalogue of sources complete this edition.

- First complete scholarly-critical edition of Boëllmann’s music in four volumes

- Based on latest scholarly research and including previously unknown sources

- Detailed preface and facsimiles of previously unknown source material, critical report and catalogue of sources (Fr/Eng/Ger)
