Losy Pieces for Guitar
As part of the extensive Musica Antiqua Bohemica series, compositions for guitar by Jan Antonín Losy were published in the 1950s. The editors, Dr. Jan Racek and Dr. Jaroslav Pohanka, included here compositions from manuscript guitar tablatures found in the National Library, the libraries of the National Museum and the Moravian Museum. In total, the volume includes more than fifty small compositions in dance and variation form, and the introductory texts on Losey, an inventory of sources, and a detailed editor's report are also valuable.
The volume is intended for all those who are interested in the lute music of the High Baroque and who are interested in the Czech lutenist who gained European fame in his time.
