Gemrot Plays for Harpsichord
Jirí Gemrot was born in 1957 into a family of Prague musicians. Following studies at the Prague Conservatoire his composition technique has been crystallising until it has achieved its present personal style.
“Plays for Harpsichord” was commissioned by the Prague Spring Festival and premiered there in May 2005. It is intended for both the modern pedal harpsichord as well as for a copy of a historical instrument.
