The Schütz-Jahrbuch will appear from this volume in 2019 onwards in a new design and now also in a high-quality hardcover. It contains contributions that enrich research not only on Heinrich Schütz himself, but also on his environment.
Joachim Kremer poses the question to what extent Heinrich Schütz's "Da pacem, Domine" (SWV 465) can be considered a form of symbolic communication. Juliane Pöche devotes herself to the Monteverdi reception of Thomas Selles, and Korbinian Slavik presents new research on sacred music for solo voices in view of the concert "Salve mi Jesu, adoro te" by Johann Rosenmüller. They are joined by Barbara Dietlinger's comments on Heinrich Schützens "Nun danket alle Gott" (SWV 418) and Olga Geros studies on the Italian style in the Latin compositions of Augustin Pfleger. Konrad Küster finally deals with the prerequisites of Gottorf opera sources in the music collection of Georg Austria.
