Rut Short Dialogue for Trumpet and Trombone (Playing Score)
Josef Rut (1926-2007) studied violin at the Prague Conservatoire, graduating in 1951 with a performance of the Saint-Saens Concerto in B Minor. He was for thirty years a violinist with the Czechoslovak Radio Symphony Orchestra in Prague (1953-83) and for three years (1955-57) also in the Prague Chamber Orchestra without Conductor.
He studied composition privately with Jaroslav Ridky (1952-54), and later for four years with PhDr. Emil Hradecky, who was mainly a theoretician and awoke in his pupil an interest in music theory.
His 57 works include four symphonies, eight instrumental concertos, a Te Deum, the Magnificat et Oratorio Ecclesiastes and chamber music works.
