Martinu Sonata for Flute, Violin and Piano H 254 (Score & Parts)

Martinu became a regular visitor to the home of Marcel Moyse, the legendary flute virtuoso, and the Sonata for Flute, Violin and Piano, H 254 was composed in Paris in 1936 and dedicated to Madame Moyse, the wife of Marcel.

The Sonata was written for The Moyse Trio consisting of Marcel, his son Louis (piano) and Louis's wife the violinist Blanche Honegger.  The Moyse Trio recorded the Sonata in 1938 and it was the first recording of a work by Martinu to be released.
