Tomášek Sonatina for Piano

Václav Jan Křtitel Tomášek (1774 – 1850) was a Czech composer and music teacher.  He studied piano, violin and singing and became one of the most important piano teachers in Prague working with many aristocratic families.  He composed many works for piano initially in a classical style and was later influenced by Romanticism. His compositions generally revealed their Czech origin.  He was one of the 50 composer who composed a variation on a waltz by Anton Diabelli for Vaterländischer Künstlerverein.
