Schroeder Sonatine for Organ

Hermann Schroeder (1904 – 1984) is one of the most important German organ music composers of the 20th century.  He was a composer, conductor, organist, music theorist and teacher - his books "Harmonielehre" and "Formenlehre der Musik", written together with Heinrich Lemacher, served as an introduction to music theory for generations of music students.

Following studies at the Cologne Musikhochschule (1926 – 1930) he pursued a career as a music teacher and organist before returning to the Cologne Musikhochschule where he taught music theory (1946 -1981).
