Jírovec Twelve Waltzes for Piano

Vojtěch Matyáš Jírovec (Adalbert Gyrowetz) (1763 – 1850) was a Bohemian composer.  His father was the choirmaster of the local cathedral and following his musical education in his home town of České Budějovice went to Prague to study law where he continued his musical studies.

He travelled around Europe becoming a successful composer and conductor, playing an important role in Viennese musical life in the first decades of the 19th century.
